Driving Range
Come and try our newly refurbished driving range bays to practise your golf swing. We have 11 covered indoor bays and 6 outdoor bays, and floodlights allow for year-round practice regardless of weather and light conditions.
Balls available in basket sizes of 40, 60 or 120 balls.
Not got any clubs? Not a problem, we have a range of clubs available to hire for a small fee in our shop.
Our range is 250yds long, allowing you to test out your best shots, and we have a range of targets and nets to help practise your aim.
Our driving range is friendly and informal, we welcome beginners, families and regular golfers alike. There is no formal dress code, and we don't currently operate a booking system so just turn up at the time that best suits you. Last baskets are sold 30mins before closing time.
Set in the beautiful Somerset countryside, we're a low-tech range, offering a chance to disconnect and escape into a peaceful, countryside environment to focus on your game.
Pitch & Putt
Maybe you'd prefer to give our 9 hole pitch and putt course a go to work on your short game.
Our 9 hole short course is 831 yards (or 756 meters), with the longest hole 104 yards (95 meters) and the shortest is 73 yards (67 meters).
This is a great facility for beginners to expand their practise before hitting the golf course, a chance for experienced golfers to work on their short game, or a great family activity to introduce the kids to golf and keep them entertained.
The pitch and putt is not floodlit, so is restricted by daylight hours throughout the Winter.
We are a relaxed and friendly facility, so there is no formal dress code. We don't currently operate a booking system so just turn up at a time that best suits you.
You have the option to go round once (9 holes) or twice (18 holes), and the price includes a scorecard and use of a hire club if you require it, but we do ask that you provide your own ball. Balls can be purchased from the shop for an extra 65p if required.

Our Story
WE ARE A FRIENDLY, FAMILY RUN, FACILITY, AIMing TO MAKE GOLF ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE.
Swingrite has existed as a facility for many decades, offering local golfers a place to come and practise their swing, within the beautiful Somerset countryside.
Our family took over Swingrite in the early 90's with the aim of providing a relaxed environment where golf is more than just a game - it's a shared experience for friends and family alike.
Mike Steadman has been the face of Swingrite for many years. A seasoned PGA professional he's developed the driving range with the addition of our 9 hole pitch and putt course. Mike has played golf since he was a teenager and has been a PGA pro for over 50 years. In his earlier career Mike enjoyed playing and touring around the world, twice playing in the PGA cup, playing on the European Tour and winning the GB and I Club Professionals Championship. He has brought a lifetime of golfing experience to Swingrite, golf is his passion and he's always keen to share that, and is particularly passionate about encouraging youngsters into the game.
Recently Mike has stepped back due to health issues (and to give him more time to play golf himself) and his daughter, Kayleigh, has taken over the business as Swingrite enters this new era. We've recently undertaken a full refurbishment of our covered bays and formed a partnership with the PGA pro's from Taunton & Pickeridge golf club to enable us to continue offering lessons at Swingrite. It remains very much a family business, with both Mike, and Kayleighs' husband Simon, supporting her to run the business, and you'll often see their young sons on site with her making a start on their golf games (or in the shop asking for ice creams!)
Golf has been a core theme of our family story, and our aim with Swingrite is to provide a friendly, welcoming facility so other families can experience the same enjoyment.
Come and visit us, check out our newly refurbished bays, and say hi!
We're looking forward to seeing you
